A Little 3D Printed Thimble For a Little Hurt Fingertip

3d printed fingertip splint for a kid

My daughter’s finger got a bit smashed during an after school activity today. It was a little bit swollen, tender to the touch. More uncomfortable than painful. Definitely not serious enough for ER, but it was sensitive and I didn’t want her aggravating it while she slept. So I took some quick measurements of her finger and 3D printed this thimble, with plenty of holes for circulation (and room in case the swelling got a lot worse overnight). This was a quick and simple solution that might be my favorite PSB3DP (Problem Solved By 3D Printing).
