My friend Laura came up with this brilliantly simple idea for a rock climbing themed cake. Playmobile climbers, M&M holds and frosting safety lines. And what rock climbing cake would  be complete without a zip line? Yep, a couple of tinkertoys and some twine for that one. What a great idea.  Even though it looked incredible, it actually tasted even better than it looked. Belay on? On belay? Chocolate on? On chocolate!

Oh, summer! Time to hop in the station wagon and take the family on an awesome family vacation. And its also time to shoot goofy pictures. After all, it is our duties as fathers to embarrass our families as often as possible.

This is a hysterical video featuring kids singing their pleas to get their parents to log off of their computers and Facebook. I think the “One Minute Finger” with one hand on keyboard is a pretty typical pose these days.

My new favorite curators of the curious and cool over at Archie McPhee are selling Titanic shaped ice cubes trays. They even come with an iceberg shaped glass. Now, that’s a way to add some class to your G&T.  It’s also a wonderful education opportunity for the kids. Ever want to bring that Facebook “Like” button to the real world? Designer Dizingof has created a 3D stamp (the designs alone are $10, then you have to pay for the manufacture which could cost 35+ once shipping is invovled, so not really a novelty for the cost conscious).

Still, it a great idea. Now, if Facebook would just adopt his Dislike button for when my “friends” post their jealousy-inducing pictures of their beach vacation in the dead of winter.

The family that Snuggies together stays together. Here’s a holiday idea to keep the whole family cozy. From the looks of it, you can also save some money on your heating bill. Of course, this is another wonderful fake product from the folks over at Prank Pack. The box is the only thing that’s real. The victim unwraps their present to find an impossibly hilarious product. When they open the box, there’s something else inside. Another Christmas sweater or perhaps a Camo Snuggie?

From a great fake idea to a terrible real one. Because nothing says, “I’m a terrifying foe, fear me!” quite like a soft fleece blanket with arms. Who says the front lines can’t be cozy?

I have been really cracking up at the entries over at Catalog Living – a site that adds hysterical captions to photos taken from real catalogs. And this one had the whole deer babysitter angle, so figured it was worth a repost.
