Birthday Party Time Lapse

Kids birthday parties always feel like a chaotic blur of cake, screaming, and truncated conversations. We just hosted our son’s fourth at NYC Elite gymnastics and I set up this little time-lapse of the pizza/cake portion and I think it really captures the spirit of the day. I like the way the balloons dance around.
I used a Canon SD 780 IS with a CHDK intervalometer script. Then I imported the image sequence using Quicktime Pro. It was so easy to do. Hardest part was getting the right framing since I didn’t have a view of the LCD screen from the highest shelf I could reach. So I just did a trial and error for a few frames.
